N'Faly Kouyate & Dunyakan
'A master clearly at the top of his game'...Guinea's N’faly Kouyate is perhaps best known as a key member of AfroCelt Soundsystem, although his deft and dazzling kora playing has also been heard on releases by Alan Stivell and Robert Plant. Dunyakan is N’faly’s own band project, and its line-up and instrumentation reflects and gives voice to whatever is current in his creative & collaborative work. 2007 will see the release of a groundbreaking new CD Tunya , where N’faly calls on violins & cello to colour the percussive flow of kora & balafon in a series of new pieces drawing on the Caribbean-flavoured rhythms & melodies of Guinean traditional dancemusic.
