Konimusic produces world music: contemporary but traditional

We are a not-for-profit company incorporated in 2005, with a strong & specialist presence across the UK world music, folk & jazz sectors & internationally.

We’ve  a successful track record in project fundraising, production, and management, and value the opportunities that partnership working & networking bring.

Konimusic provides a platform for performance, recording & broadcasting of traditional & popular international music (world music) in the UK, promoting & supporting the professional development of a diverse community of talented emerging artists, & brokering live peformance opportunities for them in the music mainstream and across our wider creative & cultural communities.

We  have a big focus on putting women artists & bands centre-stage, and we keep connected with artists locally, regionally & nationally.

Our day to day activity ranges from negotiating performance opportunities & bookings for Konimusic artists with world music promoters, festival and events organisers, to curating world music programmes & series, producing tours & music videos, project-partnering in the academic sector, and maintaining the Koni record label.
